Maker Sessions 2026

These Saturday classes are designed for girls in 6th through 10th grade. Each session will focus using technology to design and create a certain type of object. No experience is necessary. Girls may attend any or all of the classes but they must register for each session separately. Each session is limited to 20 girls.

We will meet on Saturday Mornings or Sunday Afternoons in the Computer Science labs located in the Science Center on the main campus of Lewis University.

Spring 2026 Sessions

  • February 21st 2026, Data Modeling
    Learn how data tells a story! In this hands-on session, girls will turn real-world ideas into simple models and discover how data helps solve problems in science, tech, and everyday life.

  • March 28th, 2026 - Vibe Security
    Become a cyber hero 🔐💻! Girls will learn the basics of security through fun coding activities that show how we protect information, spot risks, and think like ethical hackers.

  • April 11th, 2026 - Builder Kits
    Build it, test it, improve it! Using wooden builder kits, girls will design and construct creative structures while learning core engineering skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and iteration.
