The CaMS Cyber Defense Group

The CaMS Cyber Defense Group offers students hands-on opportunities to become cyber security experts. We work together to learn the concepts, skills, and tools modern cyber security warriors need to defend mission-critical systems. One of the things that makes this activity unique is that it is entirely student-run. Two Computer Science seniors, Brandon White and Steven Day, have gained a lot of experience working in cyber security already and know exactly what students need to learn now to become professionals who protect data systems. Since this activity involves students teaching students, there is a lot of opportunity to learn a variety of interesting and timely skills in a very applied manner. That way, it really serves as the perfect complement to all the security-focused coursework you can take as a Computer Science student.

You might also be interested in our CaMS Seminar Series. The CaMS Seminar Series brings speakers to campus to present on a variety of topics. Some of the speakers will talk about cyber security topics, while others will explore other areas of computer science. There will be seminars on Tuesdays at 3:30 in weeks the Cyber Defense Group does not meet.
