About Us
The CaMS Cyber Defense Club offers students hands-on opportunities to become cyber security experts. We work together to learn the concepts, skills, and tools modern cyber security warriors need to defend mission-critical systems. One of the things that makes this activity unique is that it is entirely student-run. That way, it really serves as the perfect complement to all the security-focused coursework you can take as a Computer Science student at Lewis University. The club is overseen by Dr. Ray Klump and managed by Dr. Jason Perry.
“Computer Science programs function best when they furnish numerous extracurricular opportunities for students. They deepen their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and – to a degree most classroom experiences don’t allow – learn how to work with each other."” - Dr. Raymond Klump
Founders
On September 22nd, 2015 founders Steven Day and Brandon White held the first official meeting of the Lewis Univiersity Cyber Defense Group (later unoficially named the Lewis University Cyber Defense Club) and started something truly great. With humble beginnings, both Steven and Brandon had an ingenious idea for their capstone. What they planned would be the basis of the foundations of the club itself which has grown leaps and bounds in both skill and technical prowess.
“A proven program that is nationally recognized by the Department of Homeland Security & the National Security Agency”

“If security were all that mattered, computers would never be turned on, let alone hooked into a network with literally millions of potential intruders”
